Welcome to KeyGenius. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the website, use our desktop application, or interact with our AI services (our "Service").

This policy applies to information we collect: (a) on this Website; (b) in email, text, and other electronic messages between you and this Service; (c) through mobile and desktop applications you download from this Website, which provide dedicated non-browser-based interaction between you and this Service.

2. Information We Collect

A. Personal Information

We collect information by which you may be personally identified, such as name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, and any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline ("personal information").

B. Content Data (Crucial)

We collect the data you upload or input, including sheet music images (JPG, PNG), PDF files, and text-based musical notations. we also collect metadata associated with these files, such as timestamp, file size, and file type.

C. Interaction and AI Feedback Data

We collect data regarding how you use the fingerings suggested by our AI. This includes whether you accept, modify, or reject a fingering suggestion. This interaction data is vital for our Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) processes.

D. Tracking Technologies and Cookies

We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on Our Service and store certain information. Tracking technologies used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze Our Service. The technologies We use may include:

  • Cookies or Browser Cookies: A cookie is a small file placed on Your Device. You can instruct Your browser to refuse all Cookies or to indicate when a Cookie is being sent. However, if You do not accept Cookies, You may not be able to use some parts of our Service.
  • Web Beacons: Certain sections of our Service and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics.

3. The Reality of Data Use for AI Training

AI MODEL IMPROVEMENT & LOGIC

As part of our mission to build the world's most accurate piano fingering engine, we utilize the data collected from you to train, fine-tune, and validate our machine learning models. By using KeyGenius, you acknowledge that your uploaded content is subject to this training logic.

This means your data may be processed through various neural network architectures and may be viewed by our internal research team during "ground truth" labeling and error analysis. We do our best to de-identify data used for training, but we cannot guarantee that specific musical patterns or metadata will be completely anonymized during the internal evaluation phase.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information:

  • To present our Service and its contents to you.
  • To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us.

6. Your Choices: The Opt-Out Mechanism

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

AI TRAINING OPT-OUT

Within the Settings menu of the KeyGenius application, you may toggle the "Contribute to AI Training" switch to the OFF position. When this is off, we will not include your newly uploaded musical content in our training datasets moving forward. However, please note that diagnostic logs and basic interaction data (clicks, crashes, session length) may still be collected to ensure the technical stability of the product.

Please note that once an AI model has been trained on data provided before an opt-out request, it is technically infeasible to "remove" that specific data's influence from the pre-existing weights of the neural network. Your opt-out applies to future data and future model versions.

7. Data Security and International Transfers

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Service, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential.

International Transfers: KeyGenius is based in [Your Country/Jurisdiction] and processes data in the cloud. As such, your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

We will retain and use your Personal Information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

Aggregated and anonymized data (which is not personal information) may be retained indefinitely for model history and research purposes.

If we make material changes to how we treat our users' personal information, we will notify you through a notice on the Service home page. The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for ensuring we have an up-to-date active and deliverable e-mail address for you, and for periodically visiting our Service and this privacy policy to check for any changes.
